Cannot find other computers

My mom and I are on a small home network.. Her computer is the main computer
with the internet. We are using a wireless router... the problem is, neither
of us can find the other on on the network/people search.. I have searched
for her, and her me... but nada... any ideas.. and yes we have used exact
spelling and capitilization on our computer names..

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this

Or look at "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net
config workstation", from yours and from her computer, and diagnose the problem.
