Cannot empty deleted items folder

Outlook 2003: It bombs every time I try to empty folder (sends message to
MicroSoft and shuts down). Have run virus scans. Have uninstalled and
re-installed MS Office. Messages remain in that deleted messages folder and
I can't seem to get rid of them. Suggestions? Thanks.

Uninstalling and reinstalling never repairs this type of problem. Have you
tried using the Inbox Repair Tool (SCANPST.EXE)?
