My Dell P3 laptop had a new drive last week due to the old one crashing.
I fully formatd the hard drive from the xp home disc, loaded the adsl
drivers from the suppliede disc and the first thing i tried to load were the
critical updates etc.
The problem is that half way through the SP1 load the laptop suddenly closed
down, s i tried again and the second time i had a mesage that stated that
MS04-11 Worm (virus alert) came up and the NT manager shut down the compuer
again.
I tried a third time and the same problem came up and the laptop was shut
down my MS programme.
So what gives guys - were can i get a clean copy of the critical updates
please and do i have o reformat the drive and start again ?
