cannot download macromedia flash and do not know why

cannot download macromedia flash (but have macromedia shockwave-no problems
there). all i get is that small white box with the red "x" in it. no gold
bar up at the top telling me to turn off anything (actually I don't get gold
bars). any help would be greatly appreciated.

Disregard this if you are not using SP2. I ran into this once before. You
might try this. If you are using Internet Explorer, open your browser. Click
on tools and click Manage add-ons.

See if the Shockwave Flash Object has been disabled. If so, enable it and
try to download again.
