Hi, everytime i try and defrag, my computer says i need to run chkdsk...
ok i do that, and it says F PARAMETER not specified...what can i do to fix
this?
Specify the /F parameter. CHKDSK runs in two modes,
"check only" (the default) and "check and fix"
To run CHKDSK with the fix option, type:
CHKDSK C: /F
assuming you want to check the C: drive. If this is
a Windows NT/2000/XP system, it may prompt
you to restart the computer. Type "Y", then restart.
its was defraggin just fine till today.
That's because until today there were no errors in
file system. Defrag is potentially destructive; for
safety reasons, it won't run on a disk with errors.
You have to fix the errors first.
Of course all of this is in the Windows help; I
suggest you read it.
