Hi

I know there are many threads on the above and have tried downloading the
KB041090 fix. I do use 32bit Vista Home s/ware. However, it says that this
programme fix is not applicable to my system....so I also tried the 64bit
patch and this gave me the same response. Everything was running just fine
until about a week ago....

I do use Norton Antivirus, but it expired about a week ago and I have
reinstalled it today - neither action seems to have made a difference to the
fix issue.

Any ideas anyone. I currently have about 200 e-mails that I could do with
getting rid of...

Thanks

The Vista SP1 contains that hotfix and more, but takes longer to install.
It's
probably your next step, if you don't have it installed already.

If that doesn't help, you may have to try the WORKAROUND section of the
KB041090 description.

Hello Robert

Thanks for the sp1 advice. I downloaded this this afternoon but it didn't
help and I've got about 50% of the way through the rebuilding workaround but
get stuck when I have to find the WindowsMail.MSMessageStore file and
can't...any further ideas?

Did you enable showing hidden and system files before looking for the
WindowsMail.MSMessageStore file? I think it's one of those.

First, if you haven't already done so, you need to change your Folder Options
so you can see hidden files.

Secondly, the exact location of the WindowsMail.MSMessageStore file is
given here: Tools, Options, Advanced, Maintenance, Store Folder.
Typically, that location will be:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\
