Cannot Delete File

I have a 232 KB file on my desktop called Nikon Monitor. I sold my
Nikon digital camera a year ago and have been unable to delete this file
although I did delete the other Nikon software that came with the camera.

When I try to delete this file I get the message:

"Cannot delete NkvMon: Access denied. Make sure that disk is not full
or write-protected or that the file is not currently in use."

It's making me crazy. How can I get rid of this file?
