A realplayer file has appeared in my My Music file and I cannot get rid of it. Everytime I click on it a message comes up that the file is in use by another programme. After I've clicked on it, it slows the computer's performance right down and I have to reboot. Is there a way of deleting this file? I tried System Restore but that didn't get rid of it

Cheers.

Hi Gadge,

You can boot in safe mode (F8) and try to delete the file from there.

If you have Nero, you can try to delete the file using the Nero
browser.

Or you can open a command prompt (Start > Run > cmd)
navigate to the folder in question using the command cd, cd..

Open task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del) and kill explorer.exe from there.
In the command prompt type:
del name_of_file.extension

Open a new task in task manager ---> explorer.exe

Good luck

Well how about closing the programs using the Task Manager or starting your PC on safe Mode? Did you install previously the realplayer on your PC? If so then I would remove it, reboot and try to delete the file again...
