I use Excel 2003 at my workplace. There are old inserted autoshape arrows
that I wish to delete. When I select the arrow I want to delete and the
circles appear at the ends of each arrow, I click delete, but they are still
there and the circles go away. I have tried everything I know, but I can't
get rid of them. I have done it in the past with no problem on other
spreadsheets. Is it possible that there is some kind of security or lock on
my spreadsheet that won't let me delete them? I do not share this spreadsheet.

Just a guess...

I bet you have more of those arrows than you think. In fact, I bet you have a
bunch that are in the exact same position and you're deleting the top one and
the next shows up.

If there are other shapes that you want to keep, don't use this:
Edit|Goto|Special|Objects
And then hit the delete key.

If you can't use that, then you could try this:
Show the Drawing toolbar
Click on the "Select Objects" icon (it looks like an arrow)
Use that to lasso (like the cowboy's rope) those areas in a single area.

Then hit the delete key.

Typo...

Use that to lasso (like the cowboy's rope) those areas in a single area.
should be:
Use that to lasso (like the cowboy's rope) those ARROWS in a single area.

Dave -
