cannot create home network

After restoring this unit, "my network place" disappeared. prior to restoring
I had connection between 3 wired and 2 wireless units, I still have 2 wired
connection and 2 wireless units and all units have internet connection. I
cannot set up home networking on unit #1. network printer works for all
units. I have uninstalled network adapter and reinstalled but to no avail.
Help Please
the problem we believe is down to Services-Workstation- workstation will not
start
all the dependency fail to start - Alerter, Computer Browser, Messenger, Net
Logon, Remote Procedure Call (PRC) Locator

What Restoring means?
After Reinstall or total refresh of WinXP with the original CD, the Network
related Services should be On by default.
