cannot connect to component database

Hi,
I have the following problem: when I try to start Component Designer, it
says: "Component Designer cannot connect to the component database because
there is currently another application that has an exclusive connection to
the component database. Please try connecting to the component database after
the exclusive connection is closed."

Ther e are no other applications open, the MSSQL service is running and in
the Enterprise Manager I didn't find anything.
How can I resolve this problem?? (I never used MSSQL before).

Hi,
yes, I restarted the computer.
MSSQL was installed only for the Windows Embedded Toolkit. SO I changed
nothing, I just made a default installation.
After that, I tried to start the Component Designer and got this message (I
stopped and started the service, and I also rebootet the server, but nothing
helped).
Can I check somethin in Enterprise Manager??

Do you have working network access on this computer?
Do you use eval or non-eval version?
XPe SP1, SP2?

Did you reinstalled XPe tools on this computer?

If you don't want to uninstall everything including DB and then install it
again try reading trough:
