I've had a few problems lately with blue screens, which seem to be fixed, but
now my puter won't fully shut down. It gets stuck on the "shutting down"
screen.

Any ideas?

If this is my only problem, after what I've dealt with lately, I'll gladly
accept it, but it is slightly annoying.

I have seen a similar problem...after clicking on "Turn Off Computer" in the
pop-up window, the Norton, Ad-Aware, Windows SP Security, and Printer turn
off, MusicMatch Juke Box and volume icons continue to show in the task bar,
and the process stops. Nothng further happens--it gets stuck on shutting
down. If I log off as User, then click on 'turn off computer", it will turn
off. What's up?

This can be caused by a corrupt .wav file used to provide the shutdown
sound, although there are lots of other causes.

May be worth checking what sound you have allocated for shutdown. It's
even worse if the startup sound file is corrupt, probably best not to
allocate sounds to these two events.
