When I right click on a drive icon in explorer, and then
click on either sharing or properties, nothing happens. I
cannot bring up either item. I am logged on as an
administrator and as best as I can tell, have access to
everything.
I can bring up these items on the shared drives that are
on my other computer (which is fat32).
The computer with the problem is ntfs. Both drives on the
computer, c & d, have the problem. I notice when I safe
boot (f8), I can access sharing and properties, but it is
very slow. I have Norton firewall, and tried disabling it
in case that was the problem, but that had no effect.
Computer has win 2000 SP4, IIS installed for personal
server, norton firewall and antivirus

No, it does absolutly nothing. You wouldn't know I had
clicked on anything

I had that problem. Then I read in another thread that my firewall
was the cause.
I was uninstalling that anyway as its no longer needed, and they were
right. I can now get drive properties again :) I was running
ZoneAlarm. If you can't do without the firewall, you should check
that you haven't blocked a windows service or something like that that
you shouldn't have. There is a faq on the zone alarm website about
this problem (I have not read it).

Matt.
