Hi all,

I have a problem with the clients that work under Win XP
Pro. The users have got administrator rights on there own
system.

When the password expires they get an error message saying
they can't change it because the acces is denied. The Win
2K Pro and Win 9x clients haven't got this problem. Does
anyone have an idea how this is possible?

Please help.

Thanks Miele

Not sure what you mean when you say that Win 9x don't have that problem.
Win 9x OS's do not use user account based security ...and if you mean that
they're trying to change their domain passwords then having local admin
privileges has nothing to do with it (users don't need them). You need to
clarify.

First of all are you connected to a network if yes then go the server and make the changes there. Here at our company i had sort of the same problem when i checked on the server it said password never expires but the pasword still expired for every body. it was was very strange. so basically what i did was unchecked password never expires and then press appy and then checked again password never expires and it worked and i was at the time had service pack 1 on my server so i have upgraded to service pack 4. it was clearly a flaw in windows 200 server service pack 1.
