Cannot Change date Format

My XP Pro system is defaulting on the M/dd/yyyy date format, despite having
the regional settings set to UK. I log on with admin rights and despite
selecting the option under 'customise' for dd/MM/yy, the system simply will
not accept this change and constantly reverts to the M/dd/yyyy format.

Can anybody help here?

Because you have your regional settings set to UK your dat
automatically changes to dd/mm/yy. You have to customize your regiona
settings to US and change your time and date
