Cannot access task manager, even with ctrl+Alt+Del

I cannot access windows task manager even with the appropriate command. I
have never in all my experience with computers encountered this. I am worried
it is being blocked by an internal program set there by a security breach or
some such. Please help! I have no detectable viru's or active trojans on my
computer, yet it will not respond to this command and is freezing up from
time to time. Any help would be really appreciated.

What is the "appropriate command" you are trying to use? What happens when
you try? If you get an error message pleasee quote it verbatim.
 
CTRL + Shift + ESC works for Task Manager

Sir, there might be some memory or RAM problem, even may be a hardware
problem. I suggest you get your hardware checked by some professional.

Otherwise, please tell what error are you getting when you try to use your
task manager...

As does Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Thank you, but I know how to get into Task Manager.
What I wanted to know is what *he* did, so we can verify that he did the
correct thing.
 
thanx for the suggestions, i was using control alt delete to open task
manager as i usually would, ram might be an issue. I am not receiving any
specific error message. It simply will not execute the program, i may see and
incon in the task bar, but only very breifly and even left/right clicking
while it was visible produced no menu of any kind. oh and P.S. I am female
just so we get that sir business out of the way, lol.
 
Neither ctrl + shift + esc or control + alt + delete, are working to open
task manager.

It is very unlikely that RAM has anything to do with being unable to
execute Task Manager. What is the malware status of the computer? Not
being able to run Task Manager is symptomatic of virus infection.
