Hello
I have a desktop PC with a c:\music directory, in which I
have my mp3s. If I try to access that directory with my
notebook connected via my WLAN, I see all files (the
directory is marked as shared). However, if I want to
play a file or even copy it, I get a access denied error
message. What is odd, if I copy the same mp3-file into
the shared folder that was created automatically when I
set up the home network, everything works. Accessing
other files such as pictures or documents works fine.
Any ideas?

I could guess that the mp3 player that you're using wants full read/write access to the file. Did you try using another player? Another thing which I'd think could do that would be if the file being used on the other computer at the same time

Another thing- I'd make sure that you're sharing it password-free. Also- maybe try 'mapping' the drive and see if it recognizes it more solidly

Good luck.

It sounds like you don't have a share set up for that music directory.
