I cannot access any sites when the URL starts with www.
microsoft. I have a home network and all computers access
the networ through a single router and cable modem. None
of the other computers exhibit this problem, so I assume
it is has something to do with this specific computer. I
am running win2000 pro. and IE6. I can go any place else
on the internet without any problem. I have also tried
using microsofts IP 207.46.249.222 with the same results.
I have deleted all cookies, checked the hosts file,
checked for viruses and reinstalled IE6 to no avail. Any
thoughts on subject would be appreciated.

Did you tried with http://www....

If this helps then you have some parasites.

IE 6.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com

or:

SpyBot-S&D
http://security.kolla.de/

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.
