I have 2 XP computer in the same workgroup connected to the same switch. The
IPs are given by DHCP. When I try to access my second PC through network it
shows only my PC in the network, sometimes if I try through "search my
computer" in the Find, I will get. I am also not able to ping the other PC.
But from other I can access this PC. No firewall is installed in the LAN.

Do anyone has solution for this, as how should I access it from "My Network
Places". Please help me out.

Often just running the Network Setup Wizard fixes things. Turn on both
computers and run the Wizard on each one. Watch out for the Workgroup
name (the default is "MSHOME" and you need to change this to your own).
If you have SP2, the Wizard will automatically enable the Windows
Firewall and if you don't want that then you'll need to change it
afterwards.

After you've run the Wizard, reboot both computers. Allow a few minutes
for the network information to propagate.
