I have a small network in my home office. All PC's or laptops run XP Pro.
The network work flawlessly until last week. Almost daily I have occasion to
go attach filed through Yahoo. Suddenly I can no longer do that. When I try
to attach the file I get an error message in with Microsoft Internet Explorer
across the top stating: Invalid file specified. Please try again.

The ironic thing is that when I go to Outlook Express and try to attach
these same file, I have no problem.

I have gone in and checked sharing and security on the files/folders I am
trying to share and they appear to be set up correctly with both Share this
Folder and Allow Network Users to Change My File. This is how it has always
been set up.

I did install EZ Trust Internet Suite and the firewall played such havoc
with my network that I uninstalled the firewall part of the suite and just
use the XP firewall.

Any suggestion? I am not a computer whiz so please be VERY elementary with
me. I need to be able to use my Yahoo address since that is how my company
communicates with its subcontractors.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Hello. I had a similar situation and a com specialist advised me to
copy/paste the document I want to attach, put it on the top-desk, and
proceed...that's the only way around it due to Microsoft having
improved on a security patch ---I wonder if they know what they're
doing.

Thank you!

Hugh,

Using a third party firewall can indeed cause problems. Un installing one can
also produce problems. When did you install, then un install EZ Trust? When
did you first see your problem?
