I am using Windows XP, and I cannot gain access to any encrypted pages. I
cannot logon to my hotmail account, Gmail account, and can't log on to
various other accounts. I am actually on another computer because I can't
even post a thread!! I also cannot update my Windows. I tried restoring
factory settings and disabling all firewalls/anti-virus programs, but I can't
do anything. If anyone knows how I could fix this problem it would be much
appreciated.
Thanks,
Jay

Turn off the CapsLock key. If it is a laptop, make sure
that your NumLock key is turned off. You can easily
check these things by typing your password in the user
account field, to make it visible to your eyes.

In addition to Rick's link here is another one to look at:

How to troubleshoot problems accessing secure Web pages with Internet
Explorer 6 Service Pack 2
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=870700

I appreciate it, however I tried everything on both lists and the problem
still persists!

Is the Date and Time correct on the computer? If it is not, that can upset
security pages.
