Cannot access 'Data' menu

When I try to access the 'Data' menu, I find that all items are greyed out!
I can't access data functions through the Task Pane either, as that
particular pane is greyed out aswell! I have tried in all the modes I can
think of (design, code, preview, folders, with a web, without a web), and
looked at all the help files I can find!
I just can't figure out how I'm supposed to access this.
Thanks in advance,
-Evan Cottle

Requires running FP2003 on a Windows SharePoint Server (WSS)
- not available on a Windows server running the FP SE or Unix servers or disc based webs

At all? Not even for the WYSIWYG XSLT? That seems very unreasonable, and if
so, I might be wanting a refund.

Typical of MS and it is WRONG! < imho >

They keep doing stuff like this and they ruin a products future. I wonder
sometimes what they are thinking... or if they are. A feature like web
database work.... good grief this is not a trivial thing.... should NOT be
tied to another piece (an expensive one at that) of software. Next we will
find out that to do asp or php work you will have to buy a msdn
universal subscription.

Right now... I'm pretty glad I've waited to upgrade. Not that my opinion
matters to anyone at MS! < vbg >

That's damn horrible marketing tactics. Is there anyway I can trick
FrontPage into thinking it is on a SharePoint server? The XSLT stuff is
practically the only reason I actually bought FP2003. Shame on Microsoft.
