I tried installing half life, which i would then install counter strike, and
when i put in the half life cd it says " C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The
system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows
applications. Choose close to terminate the application." i hope this can be
fixed, thanks for looking.

Go to http://support.microsoft.com and search their knowledgebase using
the error message you saw. That's what I did and found
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=324767.
