Hi everyone,

I recently tried to run a Scan Disk / error check of
Drive C, and I received an error saying that the volume
could not be directly accessed and the Error Check would
not continue. I searched the knowledge base, and
Microsoft is aware of the problem and working on it.

Anyway, however, the Error Check keeps trying to run
every time I start the computer up!!! Does anyone know
how to cancel an Error Checking request so that this does
not happen anymore?

If anyone knows, please e-mail me at (e-mail address removed).

Thanks very much!

You can use the "chkntfs" utility to exclude a specified volume
from being checked when the computer starts, even if the
volume is marked as requiring chkdsk.

For more information search the Windows XP Professional
Help and Support Center for the word in double-quotes and
read the Suggested Topic by that title.
