can you use the same windows cd to install it on two different com

as above i got a new computer out of currys about a year ago an its really
slowed down so i want to wipe it, i have another computer that i have a
windows install disk with, so i was wandering could i use this disk to
reinstall windows in the first computer and just put in the serial coded
thats on the side of the first computer?

No. You cannot mix and match different Windows versions (OEM vs Retail).

yes but only if they are the same type (oem or retail) and the same
service-pack level. if not then the key won't be accepted.

in principle the 'real' windows cds (as opposed to recovery discs) are all
the same for any one type of install, it would be impractical for microsoft
to press an individualised cd for each machine made as these cds are pressed
in bulk quantities. the licence key is what personalises your copy.
 
ok thanks so if i want to reinstall windows on my computer that i got out of
currys what would i do?
