Can you superimpose text in Word?

Yes. There are a variety of ways, and the method you use would depend upon
the effect you're looking for. For overstriking a limited number of
letters--for creating characters such as a 0 with a / through it, look at
using the Advance field.

For superimposing larger amounts of text, look into using a text box with
transparency enabled.

If neither of these provide what you need, please describe what you're
doing, and we can try to describe a method that accomplishes your aim.

I would suggest that the EQ \o field is more satisfactory (and much easier
to use) than the Advance field for superimposed characters such as 0 and /.
