Can you reply to emails with old attachments still in email?

Can you reply to emails with old attachments still in email? Whenever I
reply to messages the attachments dissapear.

Correct. Because the person to whom you are replying already HAS the
attachment....
 
There may be another way but whenever I need to send the attachment back to
the original sender (for example if they lost it - I have a client that does
that frequently) I use forward instead of reply. The only downside is you
will have to enter their email address because it will be blank for a
forward.

And I use Reply, dragging the attachment from the original message to the
reply.
