Is it possible to install xp on 2 computers?

Yes you buy 2 copies of Windows XP - one license for each computer your wish
to install to.
Just as it has been for all Microsoft Windows opertaing systems since
Windows 3.1 all those years ago.
One License - One PC.
This is covered in the End User License Agreement you also agree to abide by
when you install the product.
I have copied the relevant sections below.

1. GRANT OF LICENSE. Microsoft grants you the following rights
provided that you comply with all terms and conditions of
this EULA:

* Installation and use. You may install, use, access,
display and run one copy of the Product on a single
computer, such as a workstation, terminal or other device
("Workstation Computer").

Greetings --

Certainly, as long as you've purchased an individual license for
each computer.
