I have a "power" button on the keyboard (ie, not a real power button)
and a "sleep" button, i never use them nor do i want to use them, but
sometimes i strike one by mistake and the computer immediatly shuts down
closing a lot of stuff it should have...

.... so i'm wondering, is there some way to tell windows to IGNORE these
buttons? So that it won't shutdown if you happen to press them?

yes, go into control panel | power options | Advanced tab

choose what you want to happen in the "power buttons" section.

Ah, i thought it was the "real" power button on the machine, not on the
keyboard. Will check. Thanks :)

Well, that item IS for the real power button (the one on the case),
however if your keyboard has a power button it too should be listed there;

If not, check control panel | keyboard, that's where you can program
keyboard special keys too.
