Can Windows 2003 Server join to Windows 2000 AD as a BDC?
We have the plan to add it as the BDC to our network
because there is only one domain controller.
Problem is that we have the computer that running Windows
2003 server and want it work as a BDC?
Please let me know if anybody has the idea.

Thank you in advance,

Yong

Yong,

In W2K and W2K3 we no longer have the concept of PDCs and BDCs. This is
only in NT4 domains. In W2K/W2K3 domains all DCs hold writable copies of
the db.

In regards to your situation if you currently have a W2K AD domain then
adding a W2K3 DC to the domain will in turn make upgrade the domain to
W2K3. In order to do this you will have to run a forestprep and then a
domainprep before dcpromoing the W2K3 DC.
You can refer to more detailed steps in KB article 325379:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=325379.
