i can not figure out how to make graphics and text bleed to the edge of a
document. is this possible in word 2003?

Very few printers will print to the edge of the page. The ability to print
there is limited by the printer driver.

It is possible in Word 2003, but the real question is whether is
possible with your printer. Most printers have some amount of
nonprintable area along each edge of the page. Word obtains
information about the nonprintable area from the printer driver
for your printer, and warns you about margins being set outside
of the printable area if you try to make the page margins smaller
than what the printer driver says you can.

Amy: Professional print houses can print something like this for you. What
you do is set the document up on a larger paper size, they print it to the
larger paper size, and then they trim the edge off so it LOOKS like it was
printed right to the edge. I don't know if you wanted to go that far, but
thought you should understand the option.
