I have been uploading word documents to my website by going to "file" > "Save
As" and I type the web address that I want to save it to and it asks me for
the username and password. I enter the information and it opens the web
directory for me. I then find the folder I want to save it to and save and
it worked fine until I loaded Word 2007. Now when I get to the file I want to
save it to it gives me an error that it did not save my document. I need
help. I have searched the help files and all of the tools and menus on the
save box and I haven't had any luck. I don't know it might be a setting but
like I said I need help! Please!

Thank you!

I don't know but if you ask the question in one of the Office or Word
newsgroups someone there may have the answer for you, try
microsoft.public.office.misc.

Tips:

1. Use a subject that tells a bit about the problem so people will know
if they can help or not by reading the subject.

2. You'll be happier and your life will be easier if you don't use that
horrible web interface, get and configure a newsreader, Outlook Express
or Windows Mail can do this or get a better one, there are several
available, some are free.

Kevin although that worked for you thats not the best way to do it, to save
from the application directly to your server...

you should use an ftp program like smartftp.com and upload the files after
you save them locally

I don't believe your chastising post was warranted.

1. This is the 'general' group, it applies.

2. An explanation gets a response but a chewing out gets nothing
accomplished.

3. If you 'don't know' then your reply is unhelpful.

One thing that got me going for a while before it clicked: web servers don't
like filenames with spaces. I'd forgotten and tried to save something like
"My file". The error message was totally unhelpful. Only after a few
minutes did it dawn on me to use "Myfile".

Just thought I'd mention it in case you'd forgotten, too.

Huh ?? I think it was very helpful. Nobody chastised nobody. The OP was directed politely to the ms office group that can answer his issue more accurately. Also the instructions given as to how will help the OP get a more accurate answer for his issue.

Oh, ok, then I must have misinterpreted the tone of voice as represented by
the choice of wording.

I thought it sounded much more annoyed than you did.

There was nothing at all chastising about his message.

1. This is the 'general' group, it applies.

No, it is not "the" general group. It is the Windows Vista general
group--for general questions about Windows Vista, not general
questions about anything at all.

XS11E very politely pointed out that if Kevin were to ask in a more
appropriate place, he would be more likely to get the help he needs.
There is nothing chastising about that.

He then made two other suggestions to help Kevin better make use of
newsgroups. That's nothing like chastising or chewing out.

2. An explanation gets a response but a chewing out gets nothing
accomplished.

3. If you 'don't know' then your reply is unhelpful.

That's simply nonsense He said he didn't know the answer himself, but
pointed him in the right direction to get the help he needs. That is
certainly *not* unhelpful.

Translation: another MVP trying to be a Net Cop. What they do best.

I thought it was very helpful, nor did I see anything inappropriate in the
"tone of voice". Just because an app is running on an OS doesn't mean one
should post with questions about it to a newsgroup for that OS. Oft times
it's best to post to a newsgroup specific to the app. Seems to me XS11E was
trying to direct the OP to a newsgroup where there would be the greatest
likelihood of getting help.

Make sure you save as .doc, not the new word .docx (word xp/2000
document, not word 2007 document). Your server may not like docx.
