I am trying to create a left tab at one point, and a
right tab at another ON THE SAME LINE. However, when I
try to tab the right align one - it doesn't work. Please
help!

How did you create your tabs? The easiest way is to
choose the type of tab you want and then click on your
ruler to set it in the appropriate position. There's no
reason you can't have a left and a right tab on the same
line.

Thank you for responding. I created them by going into
Format tabs and set it where I wanted it (1.5" Left
aligned and 5" Right aligned). It doesn't work. I've
had this problem for years and only sometimes does it
work. I set the tabs, tab to the first stop (1.5) type
my text, tab to the next stop (5" which should right
align) and type my text. It doesn't right align. By the
way, I make these tabs in addition to the default tab
stops. Try it and tell me what happens. Thanks (I am in
Word 00

When you set tabs using the Tabs dialog, only the last tab is actually set
when you OK. You have to actually click Set for each previous one. It's
really much easier to set them from the ruler unless you need a leader. See

Thank you so much - I will try that. I am an advanced
user but this is something that always bugged me.
