I'm having a weird problem with my WinXP Pro network. I have four PCs in an
ad-hoc network, connected through a Netgear router. We recently moved
offices and we are unable to get a broadband connection of any kind, so we
are using a dial-up connection. I have disabled DHCP through the router so
that PCs 2, 3, and 4 can share PC 1's dial-up connection. All four PCs can
get online, and all four can share the printers which are also connected to
PC 1. What's odd is that not all the PCs can share folders. PCs 2 and 3 can
see each other's shared folders and PC 1 can see PC 2 but that's it. The
setttings are the same for all the PCs, with simple file sharing enabled and
the Windows firewall turned off on all machines. When I access the browser
based router settings, the only device that shows up is PC 1.
What could I be overlooking?
Thanks very much.
