Hard to help without more details. Do you get an error message when
you try to send? If so, right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it
into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

-- The only thing that pops up is a box stating that my server has not responded in 60 seconds and then it asks if i want to continue

If you click on Cancel at that point, it should pop up an error message.
Also, if you see a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark near the
bottom right, you can double-click on it to get the complete error message.
