Can an organization chart have a single text box of another size than those
in the same level? If so, how?

Hi Sue,

Yes. You just need to draw another text box from the drawing toolbar. At
this point it would just be floating. You can always use the connectors to
attach the box to your org chart.

I hope this is what you wanted. If not please supply more info.

That's an inventive solution! Thanks, I can use it.

Am I right that you cannot resize ONE box on the chart in a row? (That you
have to add a new box to get one sized differently?)

When adding a new Org Chart, there's a default set that shows up. You can't
edit the size of ONE box in the default row, is that right?

Thanksmuch,

Sue

It does not appear that way. I could be wrong but I looked and did not see how.

If you are doing lots of org charts get VISIO. You can do anything you want
there. It wouldn't make any sense for MS to give us all the bells and
whistles in Office.

Thanks again. You answered the question with a "no" but "here's another way
to do it" which is what I wanted. My client does not have Visio (I do; can't
live without it) and I'll give him the options.

Many many thanks.

Sue

If your client does not need to edit the visio file then you have a few more
options.

1) get your client a Visio Viewer (just view no edit)
2) you could always send them a PDF of the chart.

Obviously if they need to edit it then office would be the best.

On the Organization Chart toolbar, click the arrow beside Layout and click
to disable Auto Layout. You will then be able to size the text boxes
individually.
