You mean without hardware, right?

Greg

OEM discs can be sold as is... no hardware.

Greg,

Your recent posts are painting yourself as being part of the computer world
police. All is well and the glass is half full. Kick back and enjoy! :o)

LOL (Meant nicely)

Thank you for your complement :). I wish I did work for Microsoft
and I wouldn't have to worry about buying an operating system for my
computer. Heck, I wish I could keep using windows 98se. (I know
I can, but not virus protection after December 2009.) I still use
firefox 2.0.0.20

So, I would just dual boot. (I already have the software for
that).

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the reply. :o)

Last I checked, Win 98SE was still gold. That being said, have no idea what
Firefox has to do with this. As for system infection(s) it has to do with
the user not the operating system. :o)

Dual boot, I did that back in the day while beta testing XP within W98SE -
well actually it was Connectix Virtual PC and with the help of Bing:

From my findings, XP has and does stand alone compared to the rest. Good
luck and hope all goes well for you from here!
