can not send email

Having read all the threads I still have problems sending email - my isp is
talktalk.net but my emails are through pop.tiscali.co.uk. This all worked
fine b4 changing to vista all i can do now is receive and not send - any
ideas anyone.

Is your antivirus or firewall program blocking outgoing SMTP
connections? Try disabling them temporarily to see if it then works.
Are you using the TalkTalk smtp server as, if you're no longer on the
Tiscali network, the Tiscali SMTP server may reject your sending
attempts or require authentication.
 
The basic rule is that you must use the SMTP server of the company
which is providing your Internet connectivity. Why don't you use
the TalkTalk SMTP server?

I have removed norton av & installed avast (as recommended in threads). I
just use the pop for my email as this was prior to going onto talktalk isp.
all this used to work prior to upgrading to vista. can not even send using
wlm.
 
As I told you before, use the TalkTalk SMTP server.
There is no requirement that the sending and receiving servers
be a matched pair.

have you tried this

pop: pop.tiscali.co.uk

smtp: smtp.talktalk.net

Hopefullly that should resolve the problem.
