My little home network has stopped letting me see some of my computers.

They are not in my network places or ms home, however I can search for
computers and find them and access files.

I have turned of Norton and it makes no difference.

I use xp pro.

Thoughts please

Make sure the Windows Firewall or any other Firewall/Internet Security
product is not blocking them.

Disabling Norton may not be an effective solution.

Other than a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, there are other
possible causes.

If "Norton" is "Norton Internet Security", don't just disable it - uninstall
it.

Nope. Most third-party firewalls do not disable correctly or completely.
Ask anyone (else) here and they'll tell you the first step to take in
troubleshooting a network browsing or connection problem is uninstall any
firewalls other than Microsoft firewalls and disabling all Microsoft
firewalls until a resolution is found.
