Have just added a new computer to the network at work which now consists of
3 computers ,main server which has xp sp2 home ,old computer (xp home sp1)
new computer (xp home sp2)

main server can see and access the other computers

new computer can see all computers ,share files with old computer ,access
internet thru main ,and share printers from both computers, it can see main
main server in workgroup but can not access any shared files or map network
drives. (do not have access rights )

old computer can see main server only thru old connections that were set up
before main server went so SP2 i can not see any new share or map any old
folders.

i am not really bothered about the old computer but i need to map some
drives of main server for the new computer.

what i can do is go to run and type in the address \\mainserver\\files and
access them that way. can any one help.

What is the exact and full error you're getting when you try to access the main
computer from the new computer? Can you access the same shares on the main
computer, from the old computer?

Please provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer, so we
can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely:
