For last few days, all of a sudden it stopped working; any time I try to open
IE, it comes with a message that it can not open the page. I know that I am
on line because I can open the same pages using msn explorer (even though it
uses IE in different format??). I have uninstalled and re-installed the IE
from the Windows XP set up few time but without any luck. Does any one has
this kind of problem or know any solution for it. Any help in getting the IE
up and running is appreciated. Thank you

First eliminate any spyware.
What You Should Know About Spyware

CAUTION!!!!! Removing some spyware can damage the Winsock stact. Before
you try to remove spyware using any of these programs , download a copy of
LSP-Fix - a free program to repair damaged Winsock 2 stacks (all Windows
versions) so that the program will be available after removing the spyware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Aside from the excellent answer that Frank has given you and you should definitely follow also remove the Google Toolbar if you have it installed. There was a exact similar issue that was posted in another newsgroup where the Google Toolbar caused this issue.

I tried all that you mention with no luck. Any other suggestion!!!!!

Thank you for your help

Thanks Peter, that didn't help either.
