I have a user that is trying to open attachments with .rtf extensions. She
receives the following error message when trying:
Can't create file: Redline.rtf. Right Click the folder you want to create
the file in, and they click Properties on tehshortcut menu to check your
permissions to the folder.

She has tried saving the file, but same error message appears. She can
forward the message to her secretary to open/print for her, but she wants to
be able to open the file herself. Any ideas? We are using Outlook 2000

what version of windows are you using?
if you are win2000 or XP professional, are you logged into a domain?
have you tried saving the rtf to a different folder?

the message you are getting indicates that you do not have sufficient
permissions to save to that folder, or that it is unable to save there for
some other reason. check to make sure the folder is not read-only, and then
make sure the drive you are trying to save to is not full.

We are using Windows XP and we do log into the domain. This is a normal setup
for us. I am trying to just save the file to the desktop and not to any
specific folder. I receive that message when double clicking on the
attachment itself. Any other ideas I can try for her?
