Can not open file

I have a 2000 database that just does nothing when you try
to open the file. There is no response at all. The same
happens when I try to use the Compact and Repair Utility.

Any thoughts?

Does this happen on the NorthWind database? If so, you need to uninstall and
reinstall Office. If not, try using JetComp.exe to repair the database:
