Can not launch some applications after taking service pack to fix sasser

Hi folks, got hit by sasser last week, unfortunately had let my symantec subscription expire. So I ran the clean up tool and then took the recommended service pack from ms. Now I cannot launch my norton anti virus to renew my subscription, I also have one other programme that will not launch

In both instances after selecting the application from either the desktop on my pc or through the programmes menu the applications will launch and then they will suddenly close down seconds after starting. Any advice?
