can not find *.exe file

After I installed a software which was used to kill the trojans, I couldn't
start up some utilities such as zonelabs , trojan remover...etc. The system
showed that can not find the *.exe which is related to those utilities. And
I can't find the *.exe by searching them in windows explorer. Does the
incompatibility between those software cause these problems? How can I fix
the problem? Someone told me I should import the exefix.reg to the registry.
Should I do that? BTW, I don't find any virus infected my system using
antivirus software.

Hi

See if the following article helps:

"You receive an error message when you try to start a program that has an
..exe file name extension"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;837334&Product=winxp

I've stopped snorting toilet cleaner but that doesn't undo the damage done
prior to my stopping :o)

Many new viruses/trojans disable/kill your anti-whatever apps. Best bet
in the future is NOT to install the nasties in the first place.

Hi again. Forgot to say that if it was the virus and you fixed it, you
should make sure that you have a firewall enabled, at the minimum the XP
internal firewall which you set individually for each connection (it fooled
me once when I thought that it was an overall setting but it wasn't). And
then go to "windows update" under "help and support" as soon as possible.

Good luck / Bill
