Hello

I am useing XP Pro,
When I go to device manager and attempt to change to
"Use Any Interrupt assigned to the port"
and
Legacy Plug and Play.

Once selected, I hit OK, OK

When I come back, no changes were accepeted, reverts to Original
"Try not to use an interupt"

Am I missing something, is there some BIOS setting that need changeing.

Computer New HP d4100e, AMD Duel Core,

thanks

If you explain the purpose on why you need to change the setting and the setup
for the printer, others may be able to help with the issue if it is an issue.
Is it a printer on a standalone machine or a networked printer? Is it a serial,
parallel or USB?

It may be a bios setting which involves PnP, have a peek and see. If Pnp is
enabled, disable it, if not enable it and save the settings.

Hello Brian

I am trying to get an older printer to work with my current machine.

The printer is a HP Designjet 330 AO large format machine.

from reading the posts on HP there has been some commumications issues
between xp and this model.

The suggestion on there site is to "Try not to use an interupt"

I have tried hitting OK over and over, I have tried makeing the changes
hitting Ok,OK and rebooting, nothing seems to work. I tried to select jut
"Legency PnP" but the check mark was remove upon reboot.

Your suggestion of tuning on PnP, was it here at the LPT1 port area or
somewere overall.

Thanks for any addional assistance.

Select "Any Interrupt assigned to the port"
and
Check Legacy Plug and Play.

I can do both of the above, but when I close the hadware profiles window and
reopen
it goes back to the orignial setting of
