Can Not Cancel or Stop a re-occurring "Send/Receive" task

I mistakenly OK'ed an email "Read Receipt" request from my work email address
from my home email address, now I get and error and the "Send/Receive Task"
keeps trying to complete the task, but errors due to message relaying not
allowed from my home email server. How do I stop this from trying to send
every five minutes. It has been 10 days and it still keeps trying. I even
deleted the email account and added a new one with the same info, it still
trys to send. I/m using Outlook 2003.
