I already have Office '97 installed on my Win 98SE PC. I want to put Office 2000 Premium on it. First, will there be a conflict with 98SE? Would it be better to uninstall '97 and then install 2000? Or, will 2000 write itself over the top of '97?
Would appreciate any other helpful hints.
Thanks, Dano

You can have more than one version on your system as long as they are in a
separate directory.

Office 2000 came out while 98SE was the common OS for home systems so
there's no problem there. You could even put Office 2002 on a 98 system,
provided you had the recommended hard drive space, RAM, etc.

Office 97, 2000 and XP will all work fine with 98, and can
coexist- for the most part. You can only have 1 version of
Outlook on a computer ( this does not include Outlook
Express). If you choose to do an upgrade the 2000 versions
will overwrite the 97 versions. I have mine set up on a
custom install as Access databases need to converted from
one version to the other.
