Can I use leader characters with tab stops in MS ppt 2002?

In MS Word, I can select periods with a right tab stop to create a table of
contents, etc. In MS PowerPoint, is there a way to set these leader
characters when setting tab alignment?

I'm afraid not. You could try to type the whole thing in Word and Paste
Special it as a Microsoft Word Object.
That works for me here in PPT 2003.
