If for example I have a document full of spaces and/or ">>" signs, can I use
the "Replace with ..." feature sayign for example to replace ">" with the Del
button ? I mean automatically deleting all that matches ?

Thank you in advance

If you leave the "Replace with" box empty, this accomplishes what you want.

The stripmail utility linked from the downloads page of my web site will
take the donkey work out of reformatting such documents.

Thx, I had already tried that before posting this message, but it
only leaves me with a lot of empty spaces, so it doesn't solve a thing :(

I'll try the application from www.gmayor.com. Thanks anyway for your
prompt response.

Anyway, I would still like to find out if I can use a special button
action for a Replace activity (like Enter, Backspace, Del, Tab).

Did you accidentally hit the space bar while in the Replace... Box, perhaps?
Because Replacing with nothing acts as a delete for me. I fear you didn't
set it up correctly. If you are talking email quote marks ">" in my program
they are followed with a space, so you would need to find "> " and replace
with nothing.

You can Find & Replace paragraph marks (enters) and tab characters (as well
as many other things) by clicking More in the F&R dialog and using the
Special menu.

Perhaps I did hit the Space button, I'm not very sure now. Thank you
anyway for your suggestion.

Thank you all for your prompt responses.
